Letter to School

I'm touched. I feel a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I miss school. Thanks to Cheng Lin for being consideate always. Helping us with things that we are supposed to do and have not done. He wrote a letter on behalf of our class to the tutors. It was a small gesture, but none of us did that, He did it! And I do feel faintly guilty of not remembering to do such stuff. Yes i senda few of the tutors a msg to thank them somehow. But still, this is the one:

To: All Meridian Teachers who have taught 05A301

RE: Thank You for Your Guidance and Support

I am writing on behalf of my class 05A301, which was part of the 2005/06 cohort. We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all our teachers who have taught our class for the past two years.

Our class, as a whole, may have disappointed some of you for the less than satisfactory A-level results as we did not manage to become the top Arts class, neither did most of us achieved straight As. For this, we regret for not living up to your expectations.

Nonetheless, we still thank you for your tutelage during our stay in MJC. Thank you for being our mentors; for encouraging us and showing your confidence in us in good times and bad times; for devoting your time for consultations to help us ace the exams. Most importantly, thank you for shaping us into responsible and independent young adults with the heart and will to lead and serve.

We will miss your lectures and tutorials, the jokes and anecdotes that you share with us and the all the time you spent with us, be it celebrations or consultations.

We will never forget the lessons that you taught us and the values that you have instilled in us. We shall continue to strive to do our best in our future endeavours!

To all our teachers, you are the best!

Dear Cheng Lin and everyone in 05A301

Yes, you are finally saying good-bye to college uniform, rules about hair and your teachers. Now that the results are out, this chapter of your life is officially over. Many of you will continue your studies in a tertiary institution, whether abroad or locally. Some of you will go out to work; the boys will go for NS. Whatever, you end up doing, remember that education is a wonderful thing and that college is only a small part of it. You could have hundreds of As and yet still know nothing! We hope that your education does not end with your leaving Meridian - that you will continue to learn whether it is reading a book, helping someone or travelling. Much of the skills you will need in life, unfortunately are not taught in college. You have spent lots of your time in college listening to the opinions of others ( your teachers !). You have memorised and regurgitated dates, names and formulae. Along the way you would have learnt that your teachers, parents and friends may not be always right. We hope that the Meridian experience have helped you grow - along the way you have learnt to have opinions and bold dreams. If you have done extremely well in the A-level exams, congratulations and we wish you well. If you have not done as well as you hope for, it is not the end of the world. You must trust that people who are important to you - your parents, teachers and friends - will not judge you on your A-level results alone. Your future employers will evaluate you based on how hard you are willing to work; how much you want to succeed and how you treat others; how open your mind is to new things; and how well informed you are. Your A-level certificate is but a piece of paper. Your life, however, is yours to live. How you live it, is what will make all the difference.

All of us in the Arts dept wish you well. If any of you are passing by Pasir Ris do drop in to visit us. Take care.

Ps: I really miss WML's lectures. She makes me laugh.

A muddy swamp

When I say something’s wrong, I mean it. I mean, what’s the probability of getting stuck in the toilet twice in a week? I bet some of you out there don’t even get stuck in the toilet before. Oh wells, it was traumatizing no doubt. But at least I manage to get out.

Am back at work today. Yeah! Even though I hate work, I feel good to know that money is coming in! Woohoo! But then again, I wonder what will happen after my contract ends. This company sucks to the core, but if I have to find work for another two months, its gonna be a chore. How to find work for two months lar! Aiya, maybe if I want to stay they also don’t want me. Looking on the brighter side, slacking for two months at home may not be a bad idea. Sher’s stack of vcds and dvds are still on the table untouched. I should do some justice to them soon.

In the mean time, I shall save money save money save money. Don’t call me out unless it’s a low budget outing. Alright I’m just joking. But I think its time I should work out my finances properly. I’m old already, must plan for future. If not next time have to go on the streets and beg for money.

Did I mention that I’m in debt right now? So sad right!

Ok there’s a lot of things going through my mind right now. And there’s a lot of things that I need to do. And there’s a lot of activities going on this week! And there’s too little time. So now I not only need proper finance management but proper time management as well. Yes I need to balance. Oh btw, that’s my new motto in life. BALANCE!

Bang Bang

Something's wrong. I mean, not wrong as in wrong, but I keep doing stupid things. The bus incident was purely dumb. And the hand dryer thing, gosh, i cant believe i did those things. But then, deperate situations call for desperate measures. So yes, I should feel justified.

I know i should be sleeping now, but i dont know why I'm online. This is a problem. I always like to do things that i cannot do or not supposed to do. I'll make sure i'll push to my limits. But its sad when i always push for the limits for the very wrong reasons. I think i should get my priorities right. And live like a normal proper healthy being.

Yes as I was saying, I should be sleeping. But I dont feel like sleeping cus there's not enough time. Or so i presumed. Its such a paradox. Cus i love to sleep, but I'm not sleeping when I'm supposed to. Ok this aint making much sense but it doesnt really matter, heh?

Off to mark papers! And a whole lot of things that i really shouldnt be doing since I'm supposed to be sleeping.

Goodnight.

1001

Why do human relationships have to be so complicated? So now that I finally understood the situation, does it mean that everything will be cleared up and life back to norm? No, it does not mean that. Somehow, the pain comes in harder than it seems to be.

Why do we with friends? To put it cruelly, we have friends because we are making use of each other to fill the emptiness and void inside us. No man is an island, they say. But are we really not able to survive alone? Yeah maybe, that’s why we have family members from the start. Or else we could probably be sprouting out of the ground from nowhere.

I do have the answers to most of my questions. But I’m never satisfied with them. So till I find the best answer to all my questions, I think I’ll never stop questioning.

PS: Damn shit. Eveything is getting screwed up.

Something Different

Have been going out everyday lately. Everyday for a different purpose, a different reason. Been tired, but its not so bad after all. Yeah it hadn’t been that bad.

Results turned out fine. Was kind of shocked as I was really expecting failures. I guess mum was pleasantly surprised and brother? He said he’s honoured to have me as his sis sial. Hehx. Well, so now I can get to uni, I do feel elated. But it feels kind of weird as well. I have been preparing myself to brace a future that does not consist of sg uni that I do not know what to expect now. So what should I do now? How should I react? I don’t know what life have in store for me and I don’t know how to prepare myself for it. Seriously, I’m quite afraid of this next step I have to take in my life. I don’t want to waste three years doing something that I don’t like, or something that I have no use for. Time only seems too precious now.

Am slowly getting used to the braces now. Eating used to be my favourite activity of the day. Then it became a burden, a chore as it is seriously too tiring to chew. Now, I’m slowly enjoying my food again. I still take my occasional breaks in between eating a meal, some things just don’t change. Pardon me if food suddenly flies out of my mouth, or saliva just decided to flow out. Sometimes, these things cant be controlled by me. Disgusting I know, but till I get used to it.

*

As I get older, I have more opinions of my own. I get selfish, I get practical, and I get irritated. I began to get affected by small little things that a 7 year old girl wouldn’t even mind. I guess I have to start learning again. Start learning from everything, everyone, everywhere. Cause life is meaningless if we dont learn, don’t observe, don’t appreciate. I have got to stop being comfortable in my own skin. Got to stop taking everything for granted. Yes, I have to constantly remind myself before I lose my direction again.
