I accidentally deleted the images hosted for the previous template and my blog was ruined. Am too lazy to get them hosted back up again hence I'm just going to settle with blogger's classic template for now.
The boy is not feeling well and is slping in thy bed now. Feels oddly complete and peaceful though the father is blasting his chinese dramas outside.

It has been a while.
During this time, work has been killing me, devoiding me of life. Ok that’s just me exaggerating but now I see why people who are working have ‘lesser life’ than those studying. You know, I actually miss being bored. Yea, just being bored is an awesome feeling.
Things have changed. I have changed. I started believing in things that I never believed in. I want to do things that I wouldn’t even let you speak about when it was 2 years ago. What caused this change, I don’t know. I guess it’s just one’s mentality when one is put into the situation. I hope I can say this better but it’s kinda difficult to put it in words. Right now, I’m just taking it one step at a time.
You know, the practicalities of life are depressing.
On a lighter note, if you minus work out of my life right now, its actually pretty awesome. The other day, I was asked what my short term goals are. I was just about to rattle them off when I realized that I've already forgotten what they are. I remember travelling being one of them but I think the grad trip cancelled that one out. I think I need to make a list again. Things I need to do. Things I need to conquer. And reading. I’ve been neglecting the books. Not to mention, the ipod touch was freaking distracting.
Ok everything’s kind of disjointed here but what’s new.
Miss the bro. Cant believe that he has only been away for two months. Felt like eons to me.

About Time
I hadnt written anything here in a long time. Not that it had been uneventful. It's just that I dont know where to start. The last post was about the penultimate paper. Well, I rmb the last paper. In fact, I rmb it very well because I was ill and it was the first time I had sat for a paper when I wasnt feeling all that good. I rmb drowning in water during those days when I was studying for it, then lying in bed and refusing to move. I rmb refusing to learn how to draw the super complicated diagram, then gave in later when I saw the past yr papers. I rmb bitching to my brother having to learn how to draw the damn thing, then forgot how to draw one of the 12 boxes in the whole diagram during the exam. I rmb the exchange student commenting that the whole diagram looked like beans to him. And twas the last paper ever in NUS.
Fast forward and I was on the plane flying to Vietnam. I rmb the lack of concrete plans, just impromptu decisions. I rmb the excitement, and the paranoia. I rmb that my backpack was the lightest, and that it was barely half fulled. I rmb the monopoly nights. I rmb the long walks and the awesome food. I rmb the friendly hotel staff. I rmb the blackout in the hotel. I rmb the tunnels.I rmb the bus boy who wore a cap that says Singapore. I rmb the blistering heat in Cambodia. I rmb Pizza Company. I rmb the dimly lit streets (correction, they werent even lit at all). I rmb the pretty Wats. I rmb the ruins. I rmb climbing and panicking. I rmb the tuk tuk and the resultant numb face. I realised that I have a fear of heights. I rmb Thailand just the way it was a year ago. I rmb cha yen. I rmb the night markets. I rmb big mama. I rmb the trains. I rmb the sunset, the sunrise and the moon. I rmb the beaches. I rmb the supermarkets. I rmb how we took one day just to finish one mall. I rmb the people in Malaysia. I rmb the taxi driver. I rmb the wanton mee uncle. I rmb the E&A uncle. I rmb the travel agency uncle. I rmb the movie. I rmb the memorials. I rmb gurney drive. I rmb chinatown. I rmb the cheong fun.
It was 4 weeks of awesomeness. It was the only way and the only consolation that one could ever have before starting smth serious like, work. I thought I had spent this period of nothingness pretty well. No doubt that the trip was the highlight during this period, I was glad that I manaaged to meet up with people after I came back. What with the world cup, makan outings and singing sessions, it was good. And how could I forget the commencement? While some may say it's just a formality and that it doesnt really matter (I used to think that way too), but it was so, I dont know. It just symbolises so much. And all the happy faces and the parents beaming. It's touching you know.
And tmr, I start work. It's about time too dont you think? Since I'm going to be bankrupt soon. Heh. I'm not really looking forward to it. Seriously, how many people can look forward to work. It aint called work for nothing. Ok this is sounding a little pessimistic here but oh wells, I'll just try to make the best out of it.
Till then.

One more
I finished the penultimate paper today and came back to dinner , telly and computer. My brother was the cutest when he showed me this piece of paper on which he copied the grades of everybody in his class for the past 6 tests that they had.

I then had to wrap a book for him with a rather dirty looking tape that he found in the house.
My throat is feeling uncomfortable but I don’t feel unwell. I have Strepsils and I have water. What I need now is probably for 4th May to come. Though the preparations and stuff have yet to be done, I am definitely looking forward to getting out of the country after that.
“ tourism suggests a society that wishes to escape their reality” (Jamal & Hill, 2002)
I guess this sentence was probably the most exciting thing that happened to me when I was doing academic reading.
/edit: I forgot to mention that the only eye candy that I've ever had in all these years studying uni was the invigilator for the paper today and he made my heart skip a beat everytime he walks by. Seriously, good looking people should be barred from being an invigilator. They are major distractions.

Arturo Brachetti
I don't usually watch magic. I don't find it particularly entertaining. They are all illusions of some sorts that requires mighty loads of preparations. Until I discovered Italian magician,Arturo Brachetti. His art, is neither overly fasicinating nor intriguing. I would argue that its just plain weird and surreal.Which was what captured me. He's specialty is quick change. And you seldom find a solo act when it comes to quick change. His costumes and plots are just bizarre. I was watching his performance back in 1978 on (awesome)youtube and he is just simply amazing.
Someone should so bring him to our island country. He can perform at the new RWS! Then, I can go catch!

Soon Huat
The dessert stall at the nearby market is featured as one of the Top 5 dessert places in Singapore on AngryAngmo.
Wow. I've eaten there for years and I never thought much abt it. I only think of it as the 'only stall selling dessert in LAS market'. Seems like I shld pop over soon and try their more famous dessert.
Seriously, wow again.

Watching Tv
It's funny how I re-watch dramas on the tv when I've already caught them off the internet. I guess the difference lies in the fact that when I am watching it on tv, there is company. And it's nice to be able to laugh at the same stuff together. So I'm not going to catch the episode today even thought it's really nice. There is simply no point.
Shall scoot off and watch smth that I've yet to catch off the internet.

The Last Sem Syndrome
This is my last sem and that was 10%. I think you know what I meant by that. I seriously can't be bothered. I have this feeling that everything I wrote is going to end up wrong but c'mon, it is just 10%.
And, I did not do my posting last week on the forum because, well, it is less than 3%. I shall just do this week's one dilligently and contribute to the 1.5% of my final score.
If I continue thinking like this, I might very well do badly (and I mean really badly) for my papers this semester. Well, so long as I can graduate with a merit.Since I'm not doing honours anyway.
This sem is not what I've expected it to be. It is not as slack as it should be. I'm experiencing the last sem syndrome but I've not been participating in the last sem syndrome activities, i.e. play. I have friends going for kayaking and pilates and what not and I'm green with envy. Then again, I need to save for the grad trip which at the moment is going on rather smoothly but I think I may need to tighten the pursestrings a little bit more. Oh grad trip! It awaitens me.
Luckily, there are guilty pleasures in life that doesnt need money. I've been spending a few days reading in bed and it is so sinful as all I'm reading is fiction and not readings per se. I just finished a book by terry prachett and neil gaimen and it was wonderful. Guess I will just sink myself into their books as I wait for Murakami's latest to be translated into English and be released next year. And all those vintage movies that I have yet to watch! Arh, is it any wonder that I've been delaying all the stuff that NEEDS to be done?
I guess, what is suppose to come, will eventually come. I know, I'm terribly optimistic.

Hijacked
My computer has been taken over by my mum recently. To watch her korean dramas. It has been arranged tht she will start watching at 8pm on the lappie for two hours after her 7pm korean show on teevee.I will do miscellaneous stuff till 10pm and start using the lappie after that. It worked out quite well till she got hooked. Today she spent more than 3 hours watching the drama on the lappie while I hung around doing nothing during that time. The living room's teevee is blasting china dramas and my room is blasting korean dramas. Gawd, it was kind of awful. Cus i have no where to go and nth to do when all the entertainment mediums have been taken up. I'm reduced to using the internet on my phone which isnt very nice cus i cant play games.
You know, I cant blame my mum for watching korean dramas on the net cus i was the one who introduced it to her and taught her how. And it's understandable that she's hooked. But, wow. I've never felt so redundant in my life before. I was practically doing nothing. Now I sound pathetic. Argh!
