ennui

You know, this is already the sixth week of school. Half a sem has gone by just like this. Like how? Like project meetings and deadlines and assignments and many many readings that cannot be and will never be finished. Like starting school at 10am and ending at 6pm. Like traffic jams that take up to two hours just to travel home.

Like that.

Before I continue bitching about the non-existent life that I have, I must remind myself that my situation is not the worse among my circle of friends.

Anyways, the lecturer came up with an (spastic) idea during tutorial today so that he will be able to know who is participating in the discussion.

This is what happens.

my neighbour's kid

This morning, I ran away from my neighbour's kid as he tried to chase me while balancing a chameleon on his finger. I was shrieking and he was shouting, " It's harmless!''

His grandma saw him and shouted," Eh, why are you terrifying 'jie jie' like this? I asked you to run! You run yet?'

He was supposed to run around the block under the the orders of his grandma who's the family fitness instructor. (I think he's overweight.)

I could have helped him thou. I can continue to run and he can continue to chase me.

The TV

I caught my brother watching the _______ show today.
Mum already surrendered last week.
I've managed to caught myself but almost slipped.

We're all at risk of going to the dark side.

red

is the colour of roses.
Of cherries and apples,
of steamed crabs and lobsters.

It is also the colour of delicious tuna sashimi,
beautiful maple leaves
and the Kaihalulu Beach in Maui.

Red is now the colour of my arm,
of CM's arm
and ah tan's nose as well=))

*
This is the result of going cycling at noon. When the sun is the strongest, beating us with its powerful rays. I havent been so red for a very long time. Even though I'm burning right now, I feel happy. Maybe its the Vitamin D, or maybe it has been a beautiful day at the beach.

On a side note, you can never trust the weather forecast from NEA.

be better

It has been an awfully long time. The last post was about me complaining about work and stuff but I dint even go into the details and I’m already starting a new phase of my life. Or should I just say another stage in my life. I’m kind of enjoying the days as it goes by. School has started and the true horror hasn’t struck but it has been good so far (c’mon, it has only been two days). I’m foreseeing a really busy semester and a fulfilling one as well.

Life has been easier after choosing the major. Now, I can actually set my goals on things that I can see and things that I can focus on. I know what direction I’m suppose to go in and I’m going to work so fucking hard to get it. It’s time to pull those pathetic grades up.

You know, life is good when you have almost everything. I’m pretty contented with my dosage of family, friends and fiction.

PS: It would be better if moolah can grow on trees thou. Then there will be no problems with fieldtrips, holidays blah blah blah.

Losing da mojo

I cannot see how I am going to cope with the next two months. To me, its an ordeal. To others, it might just be the norm. Or that my situation is even better than them. They can't fathom, they do not understand how I feel. Sometimes, I don't understand myself either.

I've only work for two days. Two days of waking up at 06.30 and reaching home only at 19.30. If I have tuition on that day, I'll reach home at 21.20. During the weekends, I have tuition in the morning. I have to be waken up by the stupid alarm seven days a week. I'll have a reasonable amount of money by the end of the month but I don't know if I can take it. I said I don't know because I have not exactly experienced the whole ordeal (situation) yet but I'll experience it this week.

But I guess I need to do this. May I get over it fast enough.

I guess I have to stop napping in the afternoons. I’m having a horrible time trying to fall asleep at night and often stay awake till 3 or 4 in the morning. It doesn’t help when there are little people online at these unearthly hours to talk to me. And I don’t think it will be nice to call people just to get them to talk to me cause I might wake them up from their deep slumber.

So what can I do? I browse through the websites that I’ve already looked at a gazillion times, I listen to songs/ download songs and I read books. Because of this, I can finish a book in one night or maybe two nights, depending on the thickness of the book. I can’t bring myself to do things like looking for a job, arranging my bookshelf (which is pretty neat by the way) or clearing up my wardrobe as it requires more physical or mental energy than I’m willing to spent. Because, I plan to sleep.

And I was just thinking about the things that I’ve been doing the previous week and I realize it was kind of everything but productivity. The thing that I remembered most is the amount of good food, not to mention, unhealthy food, that I have been stuffing myself with the past few days. No wonder my stomach doesn’t feel well these days. And I remember I always have a weak stomach since young. It is all coming back again.

And when I still can blog about frivolous things like these, I realize how lucky I am. The news has been bombarded with the disasters that have strike Myanmar, China and Philippines. Being someone who studies Geography, I kind of understand how these things work and happened but I still can’t help wondering why it has to happen.
