sore

I’m feeling a little sore. It may be from the exams, that many of the peeps from NTU have already finished theirs whereas mine has barely even started, but it is definitely because I’m feeling deprived.

3 of my frens (rather, 2 frens and 1 cousin) have gone or are going to America for work! Be it with the school or an establishment out of school, they are there to have some fun. It may be sai gang, but c’mon, it’s the whole experience that counts. The reason that has started this outburst is because I just met LL at the bus-stop and she’s flying over to Ohio this Sunday. Sigh.

And she was telling me about her job, where she can get to go, what she can do and the employee benefits that she can get. She will be able to travel to Philadelphia, visit the Niagara Falls, travel to New York etc. And I’m so bloody jealous.

Its been such a long time since I’m out of Singapore.

Because I don’t think I have saved enough to leave this 3 months hols, I think I shall do it in December. After whining to my brother, we decided to go to HongKong. Be it with frens or with our parents. Yeah.

I shall start small. And before you know it, I will be going all over the world.

On a side note, New York New York is opening in our small little Heartland Mall Kovan. Can you believe it?! Its located on the 2nd floor in the building. Have no idea when they are opening but I should think soon.

wind

Its amazing that I'm online at this hour.

I'm usually sleeping already.

So after yawning for like ten thousand times in the day, I realised I cant sleep at night.

Bloody stomach wind.

Good Morning

It was nice seeing you after a 'long' time. Even though it was only for a short while.

Thursday, April 10, 2008

I just bought a new quilt cover and I almost dint want to wake up. Its smooth and comfy and of course, its expensive as well (even thou it was on promotion). It has a 'brinjal' colour and it makes me want to go back to sleep even more than before. This is bad.

Anyway, I've finally pulled myself up from bed to prepare to go to school. Alas! Today's lecture will be conducted by a guest lecturer and you all now how we all love to listen to guest lecturers cus of the pictures they show during their presentation but we never ever take notes or remember what they say? So I think I shall do myself a favour and not turn up today and thus save two and a half hours of travelling time.

I'm feeling really lazy. I dint go for tuition yesterday, I got overdue readings and I need to go to work later. I cant wait for the last day when I quit.

It was nice working there for a while. However, all the full time staff are quitting, the doctors are leaving, the organisation's crappy, so there's no point staying there for too long. The novelty of it is worn out. Its time to move on and look for something new after the exams.

Speaking of which, term is ending!

I was at Terminal 3 the other day.The telephones there have interactive games, you know, touch screen. You can play them for free. Hit the bunny is only one of the few games that they have. I scored 21 points!

Fish Family

While at work today, a mother came in with her two cherry kids. I could not help but chuckle when I overheard their conversation.

Mother: Okay Fishes! Behave yourselves!

Kids continue to play and touch all the machines and mess up paper and pens.

Mother (to son): Nemo! Keep your fins to yourself!

Nemo: Ok. Like soldier like that? Attention!

Cute!

fieldwork

I'm having a problem trying to make some sense of my results. Cause apparently, from wht the tehnician told me and what I've collected, they dont't tally with any of the research material that I've been reading.

And I cant picture the instrument in my head. I can but its not a detailed image. And there are so many variations of just one instrument online that I cant find anything remotely similar to the one I've borrowed from the lab.

Wish me luck.

Yiling: Yeah. Squeezing bus sux. More often than not, I feel more of a sardine in the mornings than a human.

PrisC: Glad you know its been looooooooooooooooooong. Do meet up please~

oh buses

They finally decided to do something about the old and non-aircon 151 buses.

These days, I no longer board a non-aircon bus to school, to my delight. And apparently, they have New buses catered for this line as well. But have you seen them yet? Those new buses, that have interiors like the Sentosa's internal shuttle. Where the lower deck is full of standing place and the upper deck are constructed with seats. Getting from the lower deck to the upper deck requires you to take two steps.

As mentioned, those structure seems like its adapted from the internal shuttle of Sentosa. Whoever proposed this idea and whoever agrees to it deserves a smack on their head. For goodness sake, those interiors are designed for SHORT distanced shuttle buses that carries a large number of passengers who travel for less than 30 minutes. 151 is a LONG distanced bus. No doubt it'll increase capacity which is needed during peak hours as most of the passengers will be standing (and squashed to each other). But, imagine this, students from NP, UniSIM and NUS will be taking the bus from the East during peak hours. It is definite that the number of seats are not enough for the number of students. So are these students going to stand for the journey that is going to be for more than an hour? The bus is different from the train as it less smooth. Standing for 1 hour would definitely not be comfortable for commuters isnt it? Trying not to fall is already a big problem.

Next, the steps. When the buses that caters for the handicapped and elderly were introduced, one of the main features is the lack of steps. Now, we have an additional two steps just to get onto the 'upper deck' so that we can sit. Like hello? Whats the point? Have they considered the safety of their passengers? What if there was a sudden jerk while we were on the steps? also, have they considered the ease for the elderly?

It was good that there was a change, an upgrade. But when a change doesnt make sense, it just shows that we're back to square one, arent we?
