Fish Family

While at work today, a mother came in with her two cherry kids. I could not help but chuckle when I overheard their conversation.

Mother: Okay Fishes! Behave yourselves!

Kids continue to play and touch all the machines and mess up paper and pens.

Mother (to son): Nemo! Keep your fins to yourself!

Nemo: Ok. Like soldier like that? Attention!

Cute!

fieldwork

I'm having a problem trying to make some sense of my results. Cause apparently, from wht the tehnician told me and what I've collected, they dont't tally with any of the research material that I've been reading.

And I cant picture the instrument in my head. I can but its not a detailed image. And there are so many variations of just one instrument online that I cant find anything remotely similar to the one I've borrowed from the lab.

Wish me luck.

Yiling: Yeah. Squeezing bus sux. More often than not, I feel more of a sardine in the mornings than a human.

PrisC: Glad you know its been looooooooooooooooooong. Do meet up please~

oh buses

They finally decided to do something about the old and non-aircon 151 buses.

These days, I no longer board a non-aircon bus to school, to my delight. And apparently, they have New buses catered for this line as well. But have you seen them yet? Those new buses, that have interiors like the Sentosa's internal shuttle. Where the lower deck is full of standing place and the upper deck are constructed with seats. Getting from the lower deck to the upper deck requires you to take two steps.

As mentioned, those structure seems like its adapted from the internal shuttle of Sentosa. Whoever proposed this idea and whoever agrees to it deserves a smack on their head. For goodness sake, those interiors are designed for SHORT distanced shuttle buses that carries a large number of passengers who travel for less than 30 minutes. 151 is a LONG distanced bus. No doubt it'll increase capacity which is needed during peak hours as most of the passengers will be standing (and squashed to each other). But, imagine this, students from NP, UniSIM and NUS will be taking the bus from the East during peak hours. It is definite that the number of seats are not enough for the number of students. So are these students going to stand for the journey that is going to be for more than an hour? The bus is different from the train as it less smooth. Standing for 1 hour would definitely not be comfortable for commuters isnt it? Trying not to fall is already a big problem.

Next, the steps. When the buses that caters for the handicapped and elderly were introduced, one of the main features is the lack of steps. Now, we have an additional two steps just to get onto the 'upper deck' so that we can sit. Like hello? Whats the point? Have they considered the safety of their passengers? What if there was a sudden jerk while we were on the steps? also, have they considered the ease for the elderly?

It was good that there was a change, an upgrade. But when a change doesnt make sense, it just shows that we're back to square one, arent we?

Off

these days, I feel like dough.

Project members are so wishy washy. They ask a question, you propose a solution, they reject, and dont know what to do. Its kind of stupid aint it? To me, its just plain wasting time. No doubt they are nice. But I think it would be better if they can decide faster and not just waste time discussing and digressing and discussing again. Ok not all of them are like that. But one is enough.

Spare me.

Or maybe I'm just being too impatient.

noteworthy

My brother is someone who would volounteer to help me print my notes in his office. Then later curse and swear because there were so many documents to print that it takes more than 2 hours. Then later say its alright even thou I said I wanted to treat him good food for helping me print that monstrous stack of stuff.

My hero.

My brother must love me=)

What do you do when you feel what you're not supposed to?

Awesome!

You know the feeling of being unsatisifed? The feeling of desperation to see and know more? The feeling that the world is just out there for you and you need to go and do something else that is more worthwhile than whatever you are doing right now? I get that sometimes. But today is just not that day.

Its also not the day when everything is not going your way. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Today is the day that I feel so contented and so satisifed. So comfortable that I dont know what else to ask for. I've got a group of dependable friends, my family, everything that I need. I even have Ricky's psp with me. Heh heh.

I admit that I was feeling a little sore today when I woke up, probably due to the CNY hangover [yes, I haven't quite recover from that yet]. I was kind of tired, and was suffering from bad morning flu. And the thought of staying in school from 9am to 6pm kind of put me off, especially when 12pm -4pm is a break. I was thinking of skipping the 4pm-6pm lecture initially. Miraculously, I attended it.

Today is just one of those rare days that I feel going to school cheers me up. That I actually enjoy school and the tutorials. Yes I enjoyed the lessons that I attended today. I dont know why. The tutorials were conducted normally. I met a few new people whom I think are nice and cool. Maybe it was due to the interactivity.

I remember I was feeling quite flustered as I have a lot of backlog and readings to clear. My assignments that are due this week are also not finished. Yet, I could sit back, relax, watch tv, play psp and tell myself, ' Arh, I could do all these later. Tmr maybe.' Thats how comfortable I am today.

I feel as if I'm living in my own world.
