A walk in the neighbourhood

My mum took me on a walk around the neighbourhood after dinner today (strictly speaking, it's ytd cus it's alr past twelve). She showed me the way that she take to work everyday. It was somewhere behind my block, at the private estates. Very near, but I never did went to explore that area before. It was nice. She showed me the house that her colleague would love to have, the fake flower that her fren thought was real, and the park! The park was quite sparse. But it has swings, and the roundabout thing that PP has. It looks like quite a nice place to hang out and have some alone time.

Its always nice to discover new places. Its even nicer that my mum brought me there.

I've been glued to the computer lately becuase of all the films that I'm able to watch. And dammit, I just found out that K-PAX has been made into a movie like 7 years ago. How can it be that I know about this only now?

Holy cow!

unsatisfied

I learnt today, the hard way, that pratas are usually not sold in the afternoon.

I was craving for pratas so much that I walked to three places that sells prata in close vicinity to no avail. Ended up even hungrier before I set off on my 'quest' for pratas. Yeah I settled on something else for lunch.

Why is it that people dont sell pratas during lunch? Or if they do, they only sell those that are left from the morning. I no want to eat cold prata. I want my hot cripsy prata! And you think there will be alternatives like tosai ot tosia or murtabk or roti john etc. But NO. They dont sell that during lunch either.

argh PRATAS!

wel fare

I am enjoying a little holiday. Since the completion of the three big projects, I’ve been indulging in a little too much sleep, tv and of course, the internet. In fact, it feels as thou exams are already over. Till I realized that the semester is coming to an end and the big E is just around the corner. The guilt is trying to eat me up but I’m just shrugging the feeling off.

But I think being lazy for a while is for my own good. I’m not trying to justify my own laziness, its just that the past few weeks were a little traumatic. Too many things were happening at the same time. And when there’s stress, there’s friction. Often, I feel like I couldn’t take it anymore when people start piling things that doesn’t concern me on top of me or start whining about minute things that I don’t really care about.

So I bitch to my brother. My poor brother. But I guess he needs some excitement (which comes in the form of gossips) in his life. If not, he might just die of boredom by staying at home all day. Cause he can’t go swimming you see. And when he can’t go swimming, he’s kind of crossed. And it all boils down to the unpredictable weather.

The year is passing faster than I actually imagined it to be. At least, I have things to look forward to before it ends.

To see Obama being elected (yeah!)makes me feel a little...touched? I was watching the speech he made to America and I thought it was really moving. I'm happy I get to be part of history! How I hope I can feel the same about my own country's election. Even though I'm already better off than the rest as I stay in a highly contested area =D

On bicycles and roller blades

I feel as if my nose is going to drop off. How on earth did I get a cold in such hot weather, I do not know.

Anyway, I saw an interesting sight when walking home today. The kids in my neighbourhood must have form a playgroup somehow. There was a boy on a bicycle and he was cycling down a slope(quite gentle). Behind him, there was a kid on rollerblades, squatting down and holding on to the back of his bike. And behind the kid on rollerblades, there was another kid holding on to his shoulders and was on rollerblades too. And another. And another. All in all, I guessed there were around 7 or 8? Some weren’t even squatting. They were standing, or kind of half squatting. Now imagine them zoom right in front of you. Amazing sight isn’t it?

I literally stopped in my tracks and see how far they can zoom and how they were going to er, crash =D They only went a few metres further and those directly behind the bicycle were squashed when the bicycle stopped. Some rolled away in an attempt to save themselves, others flew off. It was quite a hilarious sight. Luckily no injuries.

I was smiling. It kind of reminded me of my childhood but I don’t think I was ever so reckless. Ok maybe I did. I used to crash my bicycle everywhere in the neighbourhood with Yoggi and Bernice. Never tried blading thou. Don’t even know if I can still fit into my blades. It has been in the storeroom, untouched for a very long time. Since sec 2 or 3 I guess. The last time I ‘roller blad-ed’ was with the Netballers. It was quite fun. We fell down a lot. And we laughed a lot too. That was about 5 or 6 years ago.

I’m feeling nostalgic. And a little sad.

i remember lonely soldier

It has been a long time since I actually listen to any new songs, relying on my trusty collection of the old.

Today, I listened to Damien Rice, found some that I have never heard before on Youtube, and I fell in love with him all over again.

I heart Damien Rice.
